Second to Last Scooter Club, Chicago, IL presents

DEATHSCOOT 2000

The 6th Slaughterhouse Rally (can you believe it?)

Labor Day Weekend 2000, September 1-2-3

EJ Karz, 4275 W Grand Ridge Rd., Verona, IL 60479, (815) 287-2226

Cost: $20
Includes camping, rally patch, dinner on Saturday,
doughnuts & cofee on Saturday and Sunday,
after-hours beer, live music, karaoke, DJs, and more!

FRIDAY

2:00 pm: Group ride to rally site meets in parking lot between Portillo's Hot Dogs and Krispy Kreme (5640 South Harlem, just south of Archer in southwest suburban Summit). The ride will leave promptly at 3:00, so don't be late. Support vehicles will be available, but if you have a rickety-ass bike (OK, all of our bikes are rickety, but if you KNOW you don't have a chance in hell of making it to the Krispy Kreme, let alone Joliet) or a Vespa 50, please truck it down. The ride should take between 2-3 hours with a top speed of about 45-50mph. See the map for the group ride route. The group ride should arrive at the rally site between 5-6pm

5:00 pm: registration opens at EJ Karz. Registration will be open all weekend.

E.J. Karz is a bar and restaurant, and they will be open for dinner Friday. They serve awesome roadhouse food: burgers, fried chicken, etc. There might be some other restaraunts around, but we sure don't know why you'd want to eat anywhere else!

8:00 pm: Karaoke, drinking, etc.

1:00am: E.J. Karz' bar closes, 22LSC will provide a keg. Carry-out is available from E.J. Karz. NO OUTSIDE LIQUOR or BEER is allowed at the site! Violators will lose their wristbands, no refund. The venue has been exceedingly right-on, and bent over backwards to make this what looks to be our best rally ever. Their one request is that we purchase all alcohol from them. We hope to return here often, it's a great place, so please cooperate. Do not fear a beer shortage. There will be no such thing.

SATURDAY

10:00 am: Free doughnuts and coffee served.

1:00 pm: Group ride departs. Ride will include a lunch stop (lunch not
included) and swimming and/or ride to Starved Rock State Park.

4:00 pm: Group ride returns. Games start, including a scooter pile-on, slow ride, gymkhana, and Stomach of Steel, sponsored by:

If we were smart, we'd pretend we never heard the words "Tug-O-War," but we might go ahead and embarrass ourselves again and lose to a bunch of girls. If clubs are interested in a 5-a-side soccer tournament, we'll do that, too, with the finals Sunday morning.

7:00 pm Dinner is served to rally participants. Vegetarian food will be available, but if you're a vegan, you made a choice, and we're proud of you and your commitment, but, geez, you can't expect a biker bar to have any sympathy for you. They do sell wine coolers, for some weird reason, though.

During dinner, raffle tickets will be sold. 100% of raffle proceeds
will go to Toys for Tots, our favorite charity,
so please chip in a few bucks!
Raffle items donated by:

and many other sponsors!

8pm: As darkness falls, more fun begins:

Chicago's Bicycle Rider and Mega Super Ultra and The Pop Quiz (all the way from Columbus, OH) will perform on the outdoor stage, and between sets, raffle prizes and awards will be handed out.

12:00am: DJs and Karaoke inside the bar. Free scooter apprasials (not legally binding) by Ryan Bastianelli.

2:00am: Bar closes, Keg outside, no outside alcohol, carry-out available.

SUNDAY

10:00 am: Free doughnuts and coffee served.

Soccer Tournament finals TBA.

The rally officially ends Sunday, but EJ Karz is hosting a Poker Run and a Harley Raffle Sunday afternoon, you're welcome to participate (additional fee) or watch (free) Camping on Sunday night IS included in the registration fee.

Group rides back to civilization will be organized as needed.

1:00 pm or so?: Break up your ride home at Matt Flanagan's father-in-law's BBQ in Frankfort, IL. Frankfort also is hosting some sort of street festival mere blocks from the BBQ, at which I would guess one could procure funnel cakes and win NASCAR mirrors by knocking over weighted bottles and such, which is always a good time, so it's a win-win situation. Thanks Matt, and Matt's hospitable father-in-law!. Email Matt for info or to RSVP.

7:00pm: The Chicago Fire, who is surely in first place in the MLS Central Division by this point, will surely defeat the Colorado Rapids at historic Soldier Field. We are hoping to get together enough people to purchase grup-rate seats (only $8!). Please email Bryan right now, if you're interested, time is of the essence.
