All registrants will be required to sign the following waivers within the registration form. They’re also published here for reference.

To participate in the rally, you must sign both waivers.

Slaughterhouse Waiver:

I (signed below) am a willing participant in the event known as “Slaughterhouse 31,” a scooter rally held over Labor Day Weekend in Chicago, Illinois and environs. I am aware that this event is organized and promoted by volunteers and the Vespa Club of Chicago, a not-for-profit organization. I am aware that all proceeds go towards rally/club expenses or to charity. I am participating at my own discretion and risk. 

I will show respect for the law, the organizers, participants, venues, other riders, the public, and all property. 

I attest that I am, to the best of my knowledge, not currently ill with any communicable disease, have not likely been exposed to any communicable disease, and have taken and will continue to take reasonable precautions to avoid the spread of communicable disease, including all current immunizations and other recommendations by public health professionals. 

I am aware that permission to participate in the rally can be revoked by organizers at any time, for any reason including, but not limited to: accidental or purposeful reckless riding, riding while intoxicated, riding an unsafe or illegal vehicle, illegal activity, or general lack of respect for others. Dismissal or ejection from the event, whether voluntary or involuntary, does not entitle me to any refund or compensation, nor does it nullify any waivers I have signed.

If my registration includes an Illinois license plate, I attest that I will display the plate only on the Illinois-registered vehicle it has been officially assigned to, within the legal timeframe, in the manner prescribed by Illinois law, after which it may not be affixed to any vehicle.

Over the course of the event, I may be included in photos, videos, and audio recorded by organizers or attendees. I give my permission for such images or recordings of me, my family, and my guests to be used by the organizers and sponsors of this event for educational, archival or promotional purposes, without any notice or financial compensation.

My registration for this event is non-refundable for any reason including but not limited to weather, illness, travel restrictions, and transportation issues. Registration is not transferrable without the expressed written consent of the organizers. If I do not collect my registration materials during the prescribed times at the rally, I will arrange to pick them up or have them shipped at my expense, within two months of the event, after which time the rally organizers have no obligation to hold or turn over said registration materials.

Insurance Waiver

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT 

Slaughterhouse 31 Scooter Rally, Chicago, Illinois, and environs, August 28-31, 2025

IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to compete, officiate, observe, work, or participate in any way in the EVENT(S) or being permitted to enter for any purpose any RESTRICTED AREA (defined as any area requiring special authorization, credentials, or permission to enter or any area to which admission by the general public is restricted or prohibited), THE UNDERSIGNED, for himself/herself, his/her personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin: 

1. Acknowledges, agrees, and represents that he/she has or will immediately upon entering any of such RESTRICTED AREAS, and will continuously thereafter, inspect the RESTRICTED AREAS which he/she enters, and he/she further agrees and warrants that, if at any time, he/she is in or about RESTRICTED AREAS and he/she feels anything to be unsafe, he/she will immediately advise the officials of such and if necessary will leave the RESTRICTED AREAS and/or refuse to participate further in the EVENT(S). 

2. HEREBY RELEASES.WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE the promoters, participants, racing associations, sanctioning organizations or any subdivision thereof, track operators, track owners, officials, car owners, drivers, pit crews, rescue personnel, any persons in any RESTRICTED AREA, sponsors, advertisers, owners and leasees of premises used to conduct the EVENT(S), premises and event inspectors, surveyors, underwriters, consultants and others who give recommendations, directions, or instructions or engage in risk evaluation or loss control activities regarding the premises or EVENT(S) and each of them, their directors, officers, agents, employees, representatives, owners, members, affiliates, successors and assigns, all for the purposes herein referred to as “Releasees,” FROM ALL LIABILITY TO THE UNDERSIGNED, his/her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin FOR ANY AND ALL LOSS OR DAMAGE, AND ANY CLAIM OR DEMANDS THEREFOR ON ACCOUNT OF INJURY TO THE PERSON OR PROPERTY OR RESULTING IN DEATH OF THE UNDERSIGNED ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE EVENT(S), WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE. 

3. HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the Releasees and each of them FROM ANY LOSS,  LIABILITY, DAMAGE, OR COST they may incur arising out of or related to the UNDERSIGNED’S INJURY OR DEATH, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE. 

4. HEREBY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RISK OF BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE arising out of or related to the EVENT(S) whether caused by the NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES or otherwise.

5. HEREBY acknowledges that THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EVENT(S) ARE VERY DANGEROUS and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. Each of THE UNDERSIGNED, also expressly acknowledges that INJURIES RECEIVED MAY BE COMPOUNDED OR INCREASED BY NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS OR PROCEDURES OF THE RELEASEES. 

6. HEREBY agrees that this Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement extends to all acts of negligence by the Releasees, INCLUDING NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS and is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State or Province in which the Event(s) is/are conducted and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. 

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND HAVE SIGNED IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND INTEND MY SIGNATURE TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
